TV: Tron Uprising

Disney recently released the animated series Tron Uprising on Netflix. Although its a cartoon the show is really great for all ages. Not only are the story lines epic, the animation is really cool and the action sequences are intense. If you loved the movie, or just love cool shit, definitely check it out!

TV: Arrested Development (The review)

I was excited beyond belief that AD was returning as you can see from my previous post AD Post. Returning after 7 years of hopes, prayers and false rumors. I tweeted, I Instagrammed and texted all my fellow AD lovers constantly. I was obsessed! My hopes were as high as they'd ever been for anything in life! So its to my chagrin that I have to say I was, at first, sorely disappointed with this new season. The first 4 episodes were HORRIBLE! So much so that I gave up on watching. It was too sad, through those first 4 eps I laughed about 2 times. The horror! The humor was off, the story lines were flat and the characters seemed forced. But mid season the show began to turn around. Somehow the writing became funnier and it began to remind me of the old times (almost). In the end the season got better and I'm glad I didn't give up so quickly. However it never made it to the level of excellence of the original 3 seasons. Give it a chance but don't go in with the extremely high expectations that I did. Overall I would give this season a B.

Books: Ten Thousand Saints

Eleanor Henderson's debut novel is a provocative coming of age story about a boy and a city. The story takes place between small town Vermont and New York City. The characters are well developed and relatable. Although I did not live or grow up in NYC in the 80's the story was very nostalgic. You connect with the characters and their plights as angsty teenagers. Definitely check it out!

Music: Kanye West-Yeezus

Like the rest of America I heard Kanye's highly anticipated album; Yeezus on Friday. I've purposely kept myself out of the loop regarding his new music, I don't trust the opinions of others when it comes to this masterful genius. I form my own opinions, I am a huge fan of Kanye's music but I'm not completely biased. I admit some of his stuff is shit (Cruel Summer *cough cough*), but overall I have to say he just keeps getting better. He's not afraid to be crazy and break the mold, break all stereotypes allowing him to make perfect music. This album is a mix of old and new Kanye...its VERY experimental. To the point where it sounds like more of a mix tape than an actual album. There are so many sounds and transitions in every song. I find myself liking half of every song, because they all switch up as soon I love it or hate it. The new album is not for everyone but I'm sure the critics will rave. In the end, I still love him and think his music is awesome!! LONG LIVE YE!!!!

TV: Nashville

I've somehow become obsessed with the showNashville. The music is AMAZING! And this is coming from someone who had "Likes everything but country music" on her Facebook page. Now I've decided some of it isn't half bad. Although the show is a bit overly dramatic the acting is great and all the characters are hot. Favorite characters include: Rayna James (Connie Britton), Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) and  Deacon Clayborne (Charles Esten). Come for the drama, stay for the music!
