Daily Inspiration: Wayne White

I recently saw a documentary on Netflix called 'Beauty Is Embarrassing" about the prolific artist Wayne White. Although many of us haven't heard his name before his art is embedded in our childhood memories. For all of us who watched Pee Wee's Playhouse, Wayne was one of the central artist on the show. The thing that stood out to me the most was not Wayne's awesome art, but his 'Fuck It' attitide. Thats the only way it can be described. He does whatever the hell he wants without fear of disapproval. He scoffs at high society art and, in turn, his pieces are now highly coveted by the same people he makes fun of. There's a certain humor in his art, basically he's saying 'Don't take this shit too seriously'. My favorite part of the doc is when he states that the American dream is to have "Fuck You' money. Although his definition is slightly different then my own (he goes on to talk about the philosophies of Ayn Rand See: http://larecord.com/interviews/2012/09/10/wayne-white-gasoline-for-the-human-soul), I've taken this phrase and run with it. We all would ultimately would love to have 'Fuck You' money allowing us to do what we want without having to be tied down to a 9-5 job. Best Show Ever: Arrested Development

Hands down the funniest show ever created. (Don't argue with me!). There's a reason this show quickly gained a cult following and is being revived 7 years after it was originally canceled. Most shows would have been long forgotten but not Arrested Development. It has lived on in the hearts of its fans and has returned exclusively on Netflix.

Music: Daft Punk-Random Access Memories

So of course I've heard all of the most popular songs by the European duo, but I'm still a rather recent fan. After hearing their work with Kanye and realizing the genius that is the TRON soundtrack I decided I really like these guys! Although I've been hearing a lot of negative comments about the new album, personally, I love it. It has an old school funk/easy listening vibe, something you can play when chilling in on a lazy Saturday. With the addition of some Pharrell vocals its a great overall album. Definitely check out the new album Random Access Memories.

Travel: Peru

Although its a popular tourist destination amongst Europeans (they go everywhere!), its rarely visited by my fellow Americans. And let me tell you it was one of my favorite trips! We spent 10 days there in 2011, traveled from Lima to Cusco to Machu Pichu and the Nazca Lines. Everywhere we went was a new adventure and a new experience. Put this place at the top of your travel list. Theres so much to learn from this amazing culture and the beauty of the country and the food. The. Food.Is.To.Die.For!!

Music: Kid Cudi-Indicud

Kid Cudi's newest album, Indicud is definitely my favorite hip hop album since Kendrick Lamar's debut album Good Kid, m.a.a.d City. And thats saying a LOT.  Let me start off by saying I was not a fan of Kid Cudi from the beginning. I disliked his voice and that Day & Night song was played entirely tooooo much!...but needless to say he's won me over. The passion he has for his music is evident in this new album. The songs are heartfelt and the entire album would be an awesome vacation/summer soundtrack. Can't wait to see him in concert sometime this year!

You guys know I couldn't let this day go by without posting about THE GREAT GATSBY!!

Personally one of my most anticipated movies of the year. Not to mention the greatest actor of our time is playing Gatsby (#LoveLeo). This movie is going to be amazing!! The opulence of the roaring 20's is depicted beautifully in this classic tale of love, lust and lies. The 3 Ls, that was totally accidental. ha! Cannot wait to check it out.

The Portuguese street artist, Alexandre Farto A.K.A Vhils has been known in the art world since 2007 when his carved piece was seen next to a picture by the infamous Banksy at the Cans Festival in London. Since then he's created hundreds of unique pieces of art using various mediums. He's most famed for his images and faces carved in stone. Wouldn't it be awesome to see his work in NYC?! The answer is yes.

She was the wild child on the Cosby show, a fashionista, amazingly beautiful and she genuinely seemed like a really sweet kid! Now as an adult, she's still just as BEAUTIFUL and has a stunning family to boot. I want to be like her when I grow up...
